Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all had a lovely Summer break and warmly welcome you to our new school year. All our children have returned with brilliant attitudes, I ahave had the pleasure of visiting every class, several times since the start of term and am always met by smiling, proud children and teachers telling me how brilliant their new classes are. As you know, I have seen more than a few new school years during my time here at Howley, but I have to say this one has been the most positive by far!
I have also had the privilege of spending time in the company of the newest additions to our Howley family in our Reception unit- what a fantastic group of children! They have settled so well and are happy, confident and making lots of new friends.
The Summer break was a busy one in school, with several building improvements. We have refurbished our year 4 classrooms, replaced lockers and created a reading space in the upper level corridor, we have also refurbished the lower school toilets and our main office area. The children have been very impressed with the changes; we continue to work towards providing the very best environment for them all. I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Hopkins and our Business Manager Mrs Clifton for making sure the work went to plan and that we were ready to open.
I would like to thank all of our families with their support with school uniform, our children look so smart. I have also seen the most amazing holiday projects, children have been sharing these in achievement assemblies and they are also displayed with great pride around our school. The children are already enjoying their new topics, I have added them below along with the class readers for years 3-6.
